ELV club rides take place at various times but our main ‘club run’ meets at The Castle Pub, Woodford and ordinarily last 2-3 hours with around 60-100km covered. As a race oriented club, the purpose of these rides is for race training, so they are categorised as ‘steady’ to ‘brisk’ and will definitely provide you with a significant training benefit.
We occasionally do slower rides towards the end of the season and throughout the year and will try to advertise these on the website in advance as more ‘sociable’ rides. Our members typically arrange to meet up and train with each other via our club forum, this mainly involves the Sunday club run but we also have quite regular Thursday evening sessions at Lee Valley VeloPark and midweek hill repeat sessions at Mott Street, High Beach.
Throughout Winter, Hackney Marshes and Epping Forest are used for members who want to train for both Cyclocross and MTB racing. These are a great way to improve skills, fitness and still enjoy riding when the weather is less than perfect.
Members also meet at the Lee Valley Velodrome when taking part in ‘SQT’ training sessions and members race in both the Summer and Winter track leagues.

We also recommend coming along to one of ELV’s events to meet members, and have a go at racing. These include out Winter and Summer series at Hog Hill (Jan-Feb, and May-July), our Friday ’10s’ at Navestock (April -Sept) and our club hill climb in October at High Beach.
